Reports is designed to turn the information in your workspace into a clear picture of how your portfolio is doing. Rather than building a spreadsheet every time someone asks a question, the aim is to have the answer ready.
What the module is for
Property operators are regularly asked to report to landlords, owners, investors and their own management. Reports is intended to help answer questions such as:
- Which compliance items are overdue or due soon across the portfolio?
- How much rent is outstanding, and where?
- How many maintenance jobs are open, and how long are they taking?
- How is each property performing over a period?
How it connects to other modules
Reports does not hold its own data. It draws on the records in Properties, Tenancies, Work, Compliance, Finance and Suppliers. That means the quality of every report depends on how complete and current those records are. Owners and landlords may also see some information, such as statements, through their portal where the property team has given access.
Figures in reports are intended to support your decisions and conversations. They are not accounting or tax statements, and you should keep your formal accounts with your accountant.
How to prepare now
- List the reports you currently produce and who receives them.
- Note how often each one is needed, for example monthly owner statements or quarterly reviews.
- Identify the figures you are asked for most often.
- Work on the underlying data first: accurate properties, tenancies, certificates and rent records make every report better.
