DRAFT — LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED

This document is a draft that has not been approved by legal counsel and is not yet in force. It is published here for review and may change.

Key points

  • Mandatory buyer fees are included in the price shown before you order.
  • Providers pay a Propvora Platform Fee or Marketplace Commission, shown before they accept work.
  • Payment processing costs are treated as set out below. We do not quote a fixed processor percentage.
  • Optional fees, such as faster payout, are separate and shown before you choose them.
  • Example percentages here are illustrative. Live rates are shown at checkout, quote and acceptance.

This summary is for convenience only. The full text below is what governs.

1.Principles

We show fees clearly and early. A fee that is mandatory and can be calculated in advance is included in the price a buyer sees on cards, search results, profiles and checkout. Optional fees are never added unless chosen. The live rate that applies to an order is the one shown at checkout, quote or acceptance and is recorded with the order.

2.Buyer Service Fee

Buyers may pay a Propvora Service Fee for the Marketplace and Payment Protection. If it applies it is included in the displayed price, with an optional breakdown. If an amount genuinely cannot be calculated in advance, the method of calculation is shown prominently before you commit.

3.Provider fees

Providers pay a Marketplace Commission, deducted from the order price before payout and never added on top. The rate depends on the Provider's plan when the buyer pays and is recorded with the order:

  • Free: 8%
  • Pro: 7%
  • Team: 6%
  • Agency: 5%
  • Enterprise: 5%

The same rate applies to every job type (standard, quoted, awarded bids and emergency work). The commission, any tax on it that applies and the Provider's expected earnings are shown before the Provider accepts work, and appear as separate lines on the Provider statement. Short-stay host commission is set out in the host terms and on our pricing page.

The commission is earned only when the Protected Payment is released. If the order is refunded or cancelled before release, it is returned in full.

4.Worked example

A Provider on the Free plan prices a job at £400.00. The buyer pays £400.00 plus the 1% Propvora admin fee (£4.00), so £404.00, plus payment processing at cost, which is shown at checkout. The 8% Marketplace Commission is £32.00, so the Provider's payout is £368.00 once the payment is released. On the Agency plan (5%), the commission would be £20.00 and the payout £380.00.

Propvora's fee revenue on the order (£36.00 on the Free plan) is revenue before tax, Stripe's Connect costs, refunds and chargebacks, and is not profit.

5.Payment processing costs

Stripe charges for processing payments. How that cost is treated depends on the order and is shown before you pay: it may be included in the Propvora fees, deducted from the Provider's entitlement, or added to the buyer's price where the law allows. We do not apply a payment-method surcharge to consumers. We do not state a fixed Stripe percentage because Stripe's charges vary. Where we show an estimated processing cost, it is labelled as an estimate and reconciled to the actual cost.

6.Optional fees

Optional services, such as faster payout where offered, are shown separately with their fee before you choose them. They are never included in a mandatory price.

7.Tax

Whether VAT or other tax applies to our fees depends on the jurisdiction and the status of the parties and is shown where it applies. Where tax treatment has not yet been confirmed for a fee, we do not show a tax amount for it. Providers are responsible for their own tax on their supply.

8.Refunds and fees

If an order is refunded or cancelled before the Protected Payment is released, all Propvora fees on it (the Marketplace Commission and the buyer admin fee) are returned in full. If an order is refunded in part or in full after release, fees follow the policy shown in the order and the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

9.Changes to fees

Fee changes are made as new versions and apply only to orders created after they take effect. We give notice before a change takes effect. Where a change is material for Providers, we may require acceptance of the new schedule before you accept further paid work.

10.Subscriptions and advertising

Charges for subscriptions, advertising slots and boosts are separate platform charges described on our pricing pages and are not part of this schedule.
